What To Expect

Modern Adventures are designed to showcase the best of a destination, and promote community, sharing and celebration. We thoughtfully curate all elements of our trip for an immersive, diverse experience that —while leaving plenty of free time to relax and soak in the atmosphere.

The Piedmont Experience

Get ready for a seven-day exploration of Piedmont! We'll immerse ourselves in culture, community, wine and cuisine at immersive coffee cuppings, historic vineyards, indelible restaurants, exciting truffle hunts and relaxing hotels. We’ll explore Piedmont's true flavors, delicious wines and its slow food culture, experiencing it all together. Our adventure features plenty of food, incredible walking tours, hands-on tastings, fine dining—and, of course, time to relax. Throughout our time together, chef Giorgio Rapicavoli will be enjoying, experiencing, and discovering all that Piedmont has to offer right alongside us, bringing his native insight to everything we do—including the meal he will prepare for us on Day 6, incorporating the ethos and flavors we’ve experienced on our journey.

What We'll Do

This culinary experience is designed to give you a deep immersion into the Slow Food movement, which began in Italy. We’re going to taste so many exciting flavors on this trip—white truffles, sparkling wines, full-flavored chocolates, aged cheeses, fresh coffee and truffles that we hunt ourselves. We'll also earn about the Slow Food ethics weaved throughout Northern Italy and taste the results of local goodness.

On this experience in Piedmont, we’ll also enjoy a dinner prepared by chef Giorgio, highlighting the flavors and ingredients of Italy with his own unique flair.

Our experience in Piedmont also includes an in-depth tasting of wine. We’ll visit incredible wineries in the region, tasing and enjoying the whole way. Of course, we’ll sample many varieties of wine on this trip, but if you prefer not to drink, that’s fine too!

Daily Flow

Our Modern Adventure to Piedmont is well-paced and packs in so many incredible experiences— yet it’s not without leisure time to explore the region yourself, or simply to unwind and relax. While our activities each day will vary, the cadence remains about the same, with most days starting between 8:30 and 9am, and finishing around 4pm, then reconvening for dinner around 7pm.

You'll have some leisure time on our trip where you can explore, dine where you wish, and enjoy Piedmont on your own. The evening of Day 2 in Turin is open, so you can explore the city on your own and experience Turin's top-flight dining scene however you prefer.

Food & Drink

Our trips feature a range of dining experiences, designed to showcase the breadth and local flavors of the places we visit. We’ll sample a delicious array of Italian cuisine, from farm-fresh fare to Tuma di Langa (rindless sheep cheese) to truffles we hunt ourselves. We'll also have a coffee-cupping experience, a chocolate tasting, and visit many incredible wineries. Piedmont is home to the Slow Food movement—you'll never forget these flavors!

All meals (except for those during your free time) are covered in the cost of your experience. Select beer, wine and spirits will be served with every group meal.

Special Dietary Needs

Traveling with dietary restrictions or allergies can be a challenge, but we’re here to help. Prior to your departure, we’ll send you a questionnaire where you can inform us of any special dietary needs you have. Depending on the information you give us, we will work with our in-country partners to adjust menus and be aware of allergies and restrictions on our trip. We kindly request that any changes to our menu are based on necessity rather than preference, as we work very hard to curate an exceptional dining experience that is difficult to change.

Traveling as a Group

Group travel is an intimate, empowering and fun way to learn about yourself and others. Like any good relationship, it thrives with respect. We ask that every guest honors the key times in a day to ensure everyone's experience is the absolute best it can be. This is everyone's adventure! We also appreciate that time is precious. Every trip incorporates a mix of guided and free time for optimal exploration. But if you’re looking for more time on your own, please let your trip leader know and they can advise the best times to do this
